Urban Atlas
The Urban Atlas provides pan-European information for Functional Urban Areas (FUA) with more than 50,000 inhabitants in EEA38 countries (EU, EFTA, Western Balkans countries, as well as Türkiye) and the United Kingdom.
The Urban Atlas suite of products gives users access to detailed land cover/land use maps for Functional Urban Areas across Europe, in addition to street tree maps, building block height measurements.
Urban Atlas land cover/land use product had a six-year update cycle between 2006 and 2018 and a 3-year update cycle from 2018 onwards. It is available for the 2006, 2012, 2018 and 2021 reference years, including change layers.
For the 2012, 2018 and 2021 reference years, a street tree layer is available, and for the 2012 and 2021 reference years the product suite is complemented with Building Height layer.
The Urban Atlas is a joint initiative of DG REGIO and the European Union’s Copernicus Land Monitoring Service.
